Miles per RM1, ranked
We Computed the Real Miles-Per-Ringgit for Every Air Miles Credit Card in Malaysia (2026)
Every Malaysian bank advertises its miles card the same way: “10x points on overseas spend,” “5x TreatsPoints,” “12x UNIRinggit.” None of those numbers mean anything on their own — a point is only worth what it converts to, and every bank uses a different, often-buried points-to-miles ratio. We pulled the official conversion table for every card we track and did the division for you: how many actual air miles does RM1 of ordinary local spend earn? That's the only number that lets you compare a UOB card to an HSBC card to a Standard Chartered card on equal footing.
Why "10x points" tells you almost nothing
- The multiplier is only half the equation. 10 points per RM1 sounds better than 1 point per RM1 — until you learn the 10-point card needs 24,000 points per 1,000 airline miles, and the 1-point card needs only 6,000. Do the division and the "worse" card wins.
- Conversion ratios change without the headline rate changing. HSBC Visa Signature's points-per-ringgit hasn't moved, but its Reward-Points-to-Enrich ratio got pricier on 1 April 2026 — 24,000 points per 1,000 Enrich Points, up from 21,000. The card quietly earns fewer miles per ringgit than it did a year ago.
- Some banks don't publish the ratio at all. We could not find an official points-to-miles table for HSBC Premier World Mastercard Credit Card or the Standard Chartered Beyond Credit Card (Priority Private) — so we're leaving those blank rather than repeating a number from a blog that can't verify it either.
The ranked list
Miles per RM1 of ordinary local retail spend — not a bonus category, not an overseas-spend multiplier. Computed from each bank's own published earn rate and points-to-miles conversion table; where a card earns miles directly (no points middle-step), that's used as-is. Full detail, live, on our air miles category page.
Fee changes the calculus
The top of the table is dominated by metal and invitation-tier cards — the highest-earning card on our list charges a RM3,000/yr fee and asks for RM150k+ income. If you don't spend enough to make that fee back in extra miles, the highest rate on paper isn't the best card for you. Among cards with no annual fee, the best verified rate is Hong Leong Infinite Credit Card at 0.17 miles/RM1 — run your own numbers on the points → miles calculator before applying.
