🛡️ Luno is regulated in Malaysia
Luno Malaysia Sdn Bhd is registered with the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) as a Recognized Market Operator — a regulated Digital Asset Exchange (DAX) — and was the first crypto exchange to be fully approved by the SC, back in October 2019. The prices above come straight from Luno's public API — the same SC-regulated MYR order book Malaysians trade on.
Worth knowing: regulation covers the exchange, not the asset. Crypto is not legal tender in Malaysia, prices swing hard, and holdings are not PIDM-protected the way bank deposits are.
Not financial advice.Crypto is high-risk and extremely volatile — you can lose most or all of what you put in. Prices update automatically from Luno's public market data (24h stats via CoinGecko) and can differ slightly from the app at any instant. “Heat” reflects trading activity, not a buy recommendation. Trending crypto Malaysia — FAQ
Yes. Luno Malaysia Sdn Bhd is registered with the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) as a Recognized Market Operator — a regulated Digital Asset Exchange (DAX) — and was the first crypto exchange to receive full SC approval, back in October 2019. Regulation covers how the exchange operates: client-asset segregation, security and reporting standards. It does not make crypto itself safe — digital assets are not legal tender in Malaysia, and unlike bank deposits they are not protected by PIDM.
Yes — buying and selling digital assets is legal when done on a Digital Asset Exchange registered with the Securities Commission Malaysia, such as Luno. Digital assets are regulated under the Capital Markets and Services (Prescription of Securities) (Digital Currency and Digital Token) Order 2019. Unregistered offshore platforms sit outside Malaysian protection, and the SC regularly names them on its Investor Alert List.
The heat list above ranks every coin tradeable in ringgit on Luno Malaysia by 24-hour RM turnover — the ringgit value actually changing hands — so the top rows show what Malaysians are trading most right now. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP and Solana (SOL) usually lead, with alt-coins rotating up on newsy days.
Prices are the latest traded prices from Luno Malaysia's public API — the same MYR order book you trade on in the Luno app — refreshed automatically every few seconds (server-cached about 15 seconds). The 24-hour change and global market cap come from CoinGecko, which updates about once a minute.
Because these are real ringgit order-book prices, not conversions. The RM price on a local exchange reflects local supply and demand, the bid-ask spread and the USD/MYR rate, so it can sit slightly above or below a straight conversion of the global USD price. On liquid coins like BTC and ETH the gap is usually small.
Heat is a relative 0–100 score blending each coin's share of 24-hour RM turnover on Luno (60%) with the size of its 24-hour price move (40%). It measures activity and attention among Malaysian traders — not quality. A high heat score is never a buy signal.
