Hong Leong FD Promotion 2026: eFD Pays Up to 3.60% p.a. — More Than Double the Board Rate, New Funds Only

RaymondRates.my4 min read

Hong Leong Bank's eFD/eFD-i campaign pays up to 3.60% p.a. — more than double its own board rate — running 31 July to 19 August 2026. The rate only applies to fresh money moved in online through HLB Connect, and every tenure carries a different multiple over the board rate.

Same tenures, one scale. The August cycle pays roughly double the board rate on 3 and 6 months, tapering to about 1.5x on 24 months.
  • 3- and 6-month placements pay about 2.06x board — the widest gap among the four tenures on offer.
  • A new 24-month tier appeared this cycle — the old 12-month slot became 13 months instead.
  • Rates can shrink if Bank Negara moves the OPR — Hong Leong may revise them mid-campaign.

What to watch

  • 19 Aug 2026The August eFD/eFD-i cycle closes — six days from this article's publish date.
  • Your maturity dateThe FD auto-renews at Hong Leong's prevailing board rate, not the promo one, unless you re-place it.
  • Before you placeConfirm your funds arrive fresh by FPX — an internal transfer from an existing HLB account won't qualify.
