RHB FD Promotion 2026: 3.70%–3.80% on 7 & 9 Months, Double the Board Rate — But Read the Channel Rules

RaymondRates.my4 min read

RHB just launched a one-month Fixed Deposit campaign paying 3.70% p.a. on 7 months and 3.80% on 9 months — open to every RHB customer, no Premier tier required. The catch sits in the fine print: how you fund the placement decides whether you actually get the promo rate.

Double the board rate — and open to anyone

RHB FIXED DEPOSIT — PROMO VS BOARD RATEsame tenures, one scale — the promo pays roughly double7 monthsBoard rate1.90%Promo rate3.70%9 monthsBoard rate1.90%Promo rate3.80%
Same two tenures, one scale. RHB's own board rate barely moves between 7 and 9 months; the promo roughly doubles it either way.
  • No Premier, no wealth tier — every RHB customer qualifies, unlike HSBC's or OCBC's FD promos this year.
  • One-month window: 31 July to 31 August 2026, or until RHB's campaign target is hit first.
  • A Bank Negara rate move could shrink it — RHB reserves the right to revise the rate mid-campaign.

The real catch: which channel you use

WHICH CHANNEL ACTUALLY QUALIFIESthe fund-source rule changes depending on how you place itOver the counter (branch)Qualifies: New funds onlyMoney already sitting in an RHB Current/-i or Savings/-i account fails the teste-FD (RHB Online Banking, 7am–11pm)Qualifies: New funds or an existing RHB accountFPX transfer from another bank, or a transfer from your own RHB CASA/-i
RHB's own campaign terms treat a branch placement and an online e-FD placement differently — the marketing page doesn't spell this out.
  • Branch placements need brand-new money — funds already sitting in an RHB CASA/-i don't qualify.
  • The e-FD channel is more forgiving — RHB Online Banking accepts an existing account transfer too.
  • Break it early and you earn zero — no partial withdrawal, and premature upliftment pays no interest.

Promo rate, board rate, side by side

What to watch

  • 31 Aug 2026The 7 & 9 month campaign ends — or sooner if RHB hits its funding target first.
  • Your maturity dateThe FD auto-renews at RHB's prevailing board rate, not the promo one — mark your calendar.
  • Before you placeConfirm your funds count as "new" for OTC, or use the e-FD channel instead — it's less strict.
Not financial advice. This is general information based on RHB Bank Berhad's own published announcement and rate tables as at 11 August 2026. It is not a recommendation to open, place or apply for any account, and Rates.my does not issue price targets or rate forecasts. Confirm current terms with RHB before applying — campaign rates and eligibility can change or end early.
