3.75% vs 4.28% — the catch
OCBC FD Promotion 2026: 3.75% for Anyone vs 4.28% for Premier Clients — Is the Wealth Bundle Worth RM2,000?
OCBC's Fixed Deposit-i campaign runs until 31 August 2026. Anyone with fresh funds gets up to 3.75% p.a., no strings. A second version pays 4.28% — but only for invited Premier clients who also buy RM100,000 of wealth product. Is that trade worth it?

- Fresh funds only — must land within 7 days, above a 31 May 2026 baseline.
- Both are PIDM-insured to RM250,000 — the wealth product isn't; it's an investment.
- Miss the window and it auto-renews at OCBC's ordinary board rate instead.
Who actually gets 4.28%
- Existing OCBC customers need a specific invitation — you can't just ask for it.
- New-to-Premier clients qualify automatically, no invitation needed, within the promo window.
- Premier status itself has an asset bar most ordinary savers won't clear.
Is the extra 0.58 points worth RM2,000?
- The sales charge is guaranteed on purchase — the wealth product's own return isn't.
- Skip the bundle and the standalone rate already wins once that charge is counted.
