  • Both are PIDM-insured up to RM250,000 despite the different product types.
  • Neither promo is online — you must open the account in person.
  • Both pay up for deposits at a newly opened branch, then revert to board rate.

Who actually gets 4.38% instead of 3.98%?

At Sri Petaling, the rate depends on assets you already hold elsewhere in the bank — not on how much you place in this FD.
  • NIA AUM counts deposits and investments, not SaveLink, ASNB or insurance premiums.
  • Both upgrade tiers also need a new account holding at least RM10,000.
  • Funds must be fresh — moved in within 7 days of the placement.

The gap that matters for an ordinary saver

  • An ordinary saver gets a better rate at Bangsar than at Sri Petaling's Mass Market tier.
  • Rates.my's own FD Rate Index puts the market's accessible average at 3.05% — both clear it.

What to watch

  • 31 Aug 2026Bangsar's flat 4.08% deal closes — no renewal announced yet.
  • 31 Oct 2026Sri Petaling's ATD-i ends, or sooner if the RM500 million pool fills first.
  • Your maturity dateBoth auto-renew at Alliance's ordinary 6-month board rate, not the promo one — mark your calendar.
