Two companies, one name

  • They split in 2015. HP Inc (HPQ) kept PCs and printers; Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) took servers, storage and networking.
  • Same theme, different layer. The AI data-centre buildout feeds HPE; the AI PC refresh feeds HP Inc.

  • A $5.9b AI backlog. Entering Q3, up from $5b in March; cumulative AI-systems bookings $16.4b.
  • Juniper changed the mix. Networking revenue $2.69b vs $1.08b a year earlier — Q2’s 40% revenue jump leans on that consolidation.
  • Guidance, not hope. FY26 EPS guided $3.35–$3.45; Friday’s close is ~15.7× the midpoint.

HP Inc: the quiet one broke out on Friday

  • A fresh 52-week-high close. +6.6% to $30.05 with no single headline — coverage points to Q2 follow-through and squeezed short positioning.
  • AI PCs are 44% of shipments. Q2 revenue $14.41b, up 9%; Personal Systems up 13%.
  • Cheaper on its own guide. FY26 EPS raised to $2.90–$3.10; Friday’s close is ~10× the midpoint.
