New tier, higher bundle
Standard Chartered's FD Promo Gets a New 3.90% Tier, CASA Bundle Rises to 4.85%
Standard Chartered has reshaped its fixed deposit promotion. A new top tier now pays 3.90% p.a., and the CASA-FD bundle — split 80:20 with a current account — has risen to a single flat 4.85% p.a. Both campaigns run to 31 December 2026.
A new 3.90% tier, above the old 3.75%
- Birthday Month Privilege is new — your account anniversary month alone now qualifies for the middle tier.
- Minimum placement stays at RM50,000 across all three tiers, in fresh funds only.
- Maximum placement is RM1,500,000 for the top tier, RM1,000,000 for the other two.
The CASA bundle: one flat rate now, not three
- The old three-tier structure disappears — every eligible client now gets the same rate.
- Minimum placement doubles to RM100,000, split 80:20 between the deposit and a current account.
- Eligibility needs New-to-Priority status or a fresh RM200,000 wealth purchase — unchanged from before.
The previous write-up on this promo, published 15 August, is now out of date — it quoted the 3.60%/3.75% two-tier plain FD and a 4.50%/4.80% bundle, both said to end 30 September. See Standard Chartered’s full FD rate table for the current figures, or check where they land in our FD Rate Index.
What to watch
- 31 Dec 2026Both the plain FD and the CASA bundle close, or Standard Chartered renews for a new cycle.
- Any OPR changeStandard Chartered can reprice either campaign mid-cycle if Bank Negara moves the OPR.
- Your maturity dateBoth revert to Standard Chartered’s ordinary board rate — currently 2.05% p.a. for 6 months and above — not the promo rate.
