Two rises in a row
RON95, RON97 and Diesel All Rise 35 Sen for the Week of 17-23 September
Fill up at market rate this week and RON95 costs RM4.37, RON97 RM4.85, diesel RM5.27 — all up 35 sen, the sharpest weekly jump so far. The Finance Ministry blames a widening Gulf conflict: Iran hit tankers near Hormuz, and a drone strike shut a Saudi pipeline.

Two rises in a row
- Up 60 sen combined over two weeks the sharpest two-float run since Rates.my started tracking this cycle in July.
- Brent crude is up 16% this month as fighting spread from Gulf tankers to a Saudi pipeline strike.
Why, and who's shielded
- BUDI95 and Budi Madani Diesel don't move this week's rise only hits Malaysians paying the market rate.
- The monthly quota is 300 litres for RON95 and Budi Diesel before you pay market rate.
Updating our 10-16 Sept piece. We covered a 25-sen jump on the same Gulf conflict just a week ago. It hasn't eased — the fighting has widened, from tanker attacks to a Saudi pipeline strike, and this week's rise is larger than last week's.
What to watch
- Wed, 23 SeptNext weekly float announcement. Brent has eased since Tuesday's peak — if that holds, it could mean the first quieter week in three.
- OngoingWhether Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline reopens on schedule, easing the supply-risk premium.
- Your sideYour 300-litre monthly quota under BUDI95 or Budi Madani Diesel — go over it and you pay market rate for the rest of the month.
