United Asiapac Energy’s ACE Market debut made headlines for opening “flat” at its 35 sen IPO price on 14 September. Bursa’s actual close, and the three sessions since, tell a different story.

14 September 2026, United Asiapac Energy’s first trading day. It opened at 35 sen, matching its IPO price, dipped to an intraday low of 29.5 sen, then closed at 31 sen — 11.4% below the IPO price, not the “flat” debut the opening print implied.
  • The “flat” headlines quoted the open, not the close — a pattern this site has now seen twice this month.
  • Oversubscribed 21.02 times before listing — retail demand didn’t carry through to the close.
