4.10% new tier
CIMB TIA-i Rate Rises to 4.10% p.a. With a New 24-Month Tier
CIMB's Term Investment Account-i entered a new cycle on 29 September, then CIMB Islamic repriced it on 9 October. A new 24-month tier joined the board, paying the highest rate yet.
What changed on 9 October
- The 24-month tier is brand new, launched 9 October at 4.10% p.a. — the top rate on this board.
- 12 months rose to 4.00% from 3.85% at the cycle's 29 September start.
- 4 months climbed to 3.70%; 8 months held flat at 3.80%.
TIA-i isn't a fixed deposit
| TIA-i (this campaign) | eFD-i (conventional) | |
|---|---|---|
| Headline rate | 4.10% p.a. (24 months) | 3.90% p.a. (12 & 15 months) |
| PIDM protection | Not protected | Up to RM250,000 |
| Return type | Indicative, 50:50 profit sharing | Fixed rate |
- TIA-i pays more on paper than CIMB's eFD-i — 4.10% vs 3.90% — but carries no PIDM protection.
- Returns are profit-sharing and indicative, not a guaranteed deposit rate.
The official terms say it plainly: “This product is not protected by PIDM.” See what changed in CIMB's eFD-i cycle, the PIDM-protected alternative on the same board.
What to watch
- 3 Nov 2026This cycle closes — no word yet on a successor.
- Your maturity dateTIA-i renews once more at this campaign rate for one cycle, then any further renewal reverts to CIMB's prevailing indicative rate.
