Roughly double the board rate, every tenure
- Rollovers of an existing Maybank deposit qualify for the online minimum too — not just fresh funds from another bank.
- Over the counter costs more: RM10,000 for 3 or 6 months, and RM20,000 for a 12-month placement.
- The rate can still move if Bank Negara changes the OPR before the campaign closes, per Maybank’s own terms.
A deadline Maybank hadn’t published, until now
- Maybank's own campaign page named no end date as of 5 October — its official T&C PDF finally confirms one.
- The prior cycle, Merdeka, paid just 3.70% for 12 months and required fresh funds only — this one doesn’t.
- No automatic rollover applies — left untouched at maturity, the deposit reverts to Maybank's ordinary board rate.

What to watch
- 31 Oct 2026The campaign closes — or earlier if Maybank hits its placement target first.
- Mid-campaignRates may be revised if Bank Negara moves the OPR before the deadline.
- At maturityThe deposit does not auto-renew at the campaign rate — re-place it manually to keep earning above the board rate.
