Wednesday closes out September for savers: thirteen fixed deposit promotions expire the same night the new petrol price is announced. Bursa's busiest days are Tuesday and Thursday, when 20 of the week's 25 ex-dividend stocks fall, led by Tenaga Nasional. Friday brings the last big US jobs report before the Fed's next meeting.

The week at a glance
- Wednesday carries the week's deadline. Thirteen FD promotions expire the same night petrol is announced.
- The Fed and Bank Negara both sit out. The Fed meets 27–28 Oct, Bank Negara 5 Nov — not this week.
Bursa: 25 stocks go ex-dividend this week
- Own it before the ex-date. Buy on the ex-date itself and the seller keeps the dividend.
- Tenaga and Naim lead the week. Tenaga Nasional's 25 sen and Naim Holdings' 20.4 sen are the two biggest payouts.
13 FD promotions expire Wednesday. Standard Chartered, HSBC, CIMB, Public Bank, RHB, OCBC, Al Rajhi, Alliance, AmBank, Hong Leong and UOB all close their current cycles on 30 September — rates span 3.60% up to HSBC Premier's 4.28%, with Al Rajhi's 3.80% TD-i Advantage open to any customer, no wealth tier needed.
