RON95's round trip
Petrol Price Malaysia This Week: RON95 Round-Trips Back to RM3.82 (27 Aug–2 Sep 2026)
Unsubsidised RON95 rose 5 sen to RM3.82 a litre for 27 August to 2 September 2026 — exactly where it sat a month ago, after dipping and climbing back. RON97 and diesel rose 5 sen too, the smallest move since prices started climbing again.

Up for a second week — almost back where it started
- All three grades rose by the same amount. A synchronised move across RON95, RON97 and diesel.
- It's the second straight weekly rise. That follows two weeks of cuts through mid-August.
- BUDI95 and Budi Madani Diesel are unchanged. Only drivers past their monthly quota feel the rise.
Why the rise is slowing
- Brent has cooled for two weeks. It peaked in mid-August and has eased since.
- The APM runs about a week behind Brent. This week's prices reflect last week's average cost.
- Iran and Oman are reportedly making progress on the Strait of Hormuz, one reason crude has eased.
The bit that catches people out. Past 300 litres a month, the pump switches you to the unsubsidised rate instead of RM1.99. The quota resets on the 1st, so heavy drivers feel every one of these weekly moves; everyone else mostly doesn't.
What to watch
- 3 Sep 2026Next APM update. Whether Brent’s cooling holds decides if the rise continues or reverses.
- OngoingIran–Oman talks over the Strait of Hormuz. If the reported thaw holds, that keeps pressure off future pump prices.
