Monday opens with one stock going ex-dividend and the weekend closes with a deadline. Wednesday sets the petrol price, Thursday is Bursa's busiest ex-dividend day of the month, and Saturday is when six FD campaigns run out.
  • Wednesday is pricing day. New rates apply from 12.01am Thursday; BUDI95 and BUDI Diesel stay unchanged.
  • Thursday is Bursa's busiest day. Six counters go ex-dividend together, the most of any day this month.
  • Saturday is the real deadline. Six FD and FD-i campaigns from five banks run out the same night.

Thursday: Bursa's busiest ex-dividend day

All six go ex on the same Thursday. MNRB's 15 sen final dividend is the biggest, and it comes with a reinvestment option.
  • Own it by Wednesday. Buy on the ex-date itself and the seller keeps the payout, not you.
  • MNRB's final dividend has a choice. A reinvestment plan lets holders take new shares instead of cash.

Saturday: five banks, six deadlines

  • The highest rate needs a branch visit. Alliance's top tier is Sri Petaling branch-only, for Privilege/Personal customers only.
  • MBSB's top rate is open to everyone. New or existing customers, online or at a branch — no fresh-funds rule.
  • History favours renewal, not expiry. AmBank, Maybank and MBSB rotate in a fresh rate monthly; RHB has already extended twice.
OPR is anchored — but five banks' deadlines aren't. Bank Negara's final MPC meeting of 2026 is 5 November — a week after this one — and a hold is widely expected, the same call as September's. Board rates stay put for now, but the promotional codes layered on top of them do not: six end this Saturday. Compare today's FD rates before Monday.

What to watch

  • Wed 28 Oct, ~1pm MYTThe EIA's weekly petroleum report — moves global oil prices, which feed into next week's pump price.
  • Thu 5 NovBank Negara's final MPC meeting of 2026 — another hold is expected, same as September.
  • Fri 6 NovThe US October jobs report — the next nonfarm payrolls release.
