How easy to earn
Selective

Rewards specific merchants or categories — check the card's terms for what qualifies. The maximum is the published monthly cap; actual cashback depends on the exact eligible categories, exclusions and minimum-spend terms — confirm the fine print below before you apply.

Eligibility & how to apply

Minimum income
RM24,000 a year (about RM2,000 a month). UOB Bank may also assess your overall credit profile.
Age

Documents
Your MyKad (or passport for non-residents), latest payslips or your most recent BE/EA form, and recent bank or EPF statements as proof of income.
How to apply

The fine print, decoded

The catches most people miss on the UOB Simple Card, in plain language — so nobody gets caught out. Always confirm against the official terms.

What's excluded
Cashback is void for a billing cycle if the Cardmember's net payment is less than that cycle's Minimum Payment Due for any reason (including reversals/stop-payment), if the card/account is cancelled, terminated or suspended, or if the card is converted to any other UOB Malaysia card.
Min spend to earn
None in the retail-spend sense — this card earns nothing on ordinary retail spend. Cashback only exists as 10% off Eligible Finance Charges (interest on purchases and cash advances), so it's only earned in a cycle where the prior statement's Minimum Payment Due wasn't paid in full.
How the cap works
No cap in the official T&C — the 10% cashback-on-finance-charges has no monthly or annual ceiling stated anywhere in the 4-page Cashback Programme T&C.
Foreign transaction fee
1% UOB foreign-exchange conversion markup on the converted Ringgit Malaysia amount, plus a Visa/Mastercard International administration charge of up to 1.22% — per UOB Malaysia's general Credit Card/Commercial Card PDS (covers the Simple Card by name).
  • This is not a retail cashback card: paying your statement in full every month (the financially sound move) earns zero cashback, since the 10% only rebates finance (interest) charges — a cardholder who never carries a balance will never see a cashback credit
  • Cashback is credited the following statement cycle, and only if that next cycle actually shows Eligible Finance Charges
