When are Malaysia petrol prices updated?
Petrol prices in Malaysia are announced every Wednesday by the Ministry of Domestic Trade (KPDN) and take effect from Thursday to the following Wednesday, using the weekly Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).
What is the difference between RON95 and RON97?
RON95 is the subsidised everyday fuel suitable for most cars. RON97 is a premium fuel for higher-performance engines and follows the weekly market float price, while RON95 is held at the government subsidised price.
Is RON95 still subsidised for everyone?
Under the targeted BUDI95 subsidy, qualifying Malaysian citizens pay the subsidised RON95 price (around RM1.99 to RM2.05 per litre). RON97 and Peninsular diesel follow the unsubsidised weekly market price.
